About the Role

These roles are ideal for data engineers with a diverse skill set, from junior to senior specialisation, including contributions to complex distributed systems at scale.

Key focus areas:

  • Designing and optimising real-time and batch data pipelines
  • Implementing ETL/ELT workflows
  • Ensuring data quality and governance
  • Leveraging streaming architectures (stored in Kafka, Flink, etc.)

Requirements

Successful candidates will typically demonstrate: ✔ 3+ years in data engineering at scale—but experience not rigid; senior professionals (current role should demonstrate greater impact correlated with problem-solving) prioritised. ✔ Proven proficiency in at least one core language:

  • ⚡ Java/Python ✔ Technologies & Pipelines:
  • Kafka, Spark, or Flink experience
  • Built ETL/ELT or VT streaming pipelines* ✔ Software Architecture:
  • Intimate understanding of distributed systems
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and unpredictability management ✔ Data Principles:
  • Familiarity with data modelling, governance, and quality frameworks
  • Actual experience of leading data operations in large/across heterogeneous environments. ✔ Collaborative Mindset
  • Thrives in agile teams, adapting to cross-functional service delivery
