Data Engineer
9-month contract - likelihood of extension
£450pd, Outside IR35
Primarily remote - once a month onsite in their West Midlands office
Must hold or previously have held SC and/or NPPV3 clearance
iO Associates are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to work with a public sector organisation. In this role you will support one of the most significant technology and business change initiatives undertaken in recent years.

You will work closely with the Programme Team, Data Architect, and external suppliers to design, build, and optimise data pipelines and platforms.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, ideally within a complex data environment.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java.
- Experience with data transformation, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is desirable.
- Familiarity with data modelling, database design, and data architecture best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
