Data Engineering & Cloud Technical Solutions Lead
Location: UK/Remote (with travel)
Your Role
The Data & Cloud Technical Solutions Lead will act as a lead subject matter expert across the Cloud and Data portfolios, responsible for shaping high-quality learning products across digital self-paced, instructor-led, and blended delivery models.
The role will lead the design of bespoke, off-the-shelf, and certification-aligned solutions, representing portfolio requirements while ensuring products align with customer needs, market demand, and commercial opportunity. This includes:
- Leading customer engagements to identify skills challenges and shape solution recommendations.
- Developing proposal outlines that clearly articulate learning approaches, audiences, outcomes, delivery models, and business value.
- Collaborating with Portfolio Directors, Sales, Product, Delivery, and SME teams to translate customer needs into scalable learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Solution Design
- Lead the design and development of innovative Data and Cloud learning solutions across digital (self-paced), instructor-led courses, and blended models.
- Shape commercially relevant, technically accurate products aligned to customer needs, covering:
- Cloud solutions: Architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, identity, governance, migration, operations, cost optimisation, and cloud-native services.
- Data Engineering capabilities: Data pipelines, integration, orchestration, warehousing, data lake architectures, data modelling, real-time processing, and operational data workflows.
- Curate and develop technically accurate, engaging learning content for digital and instructor-led platforms, ensuring outcomes are modality-appropriate.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and support customer discovery, pre-sales, and solution-shaping engagements with Portfolio Directors and Sales teams to identify business challenges and learning gaps.
- Produce high-level proposal outlines detailing learning approaches, audience segmentation, outcomes, delivery models (e.g., virtual classrooms, blended programmes), and value propositions.
- Translate market trends, customer requirements, and portfolio priorities into scalable Data and Cloud learning solutions.
- Work with SMEs, accreditation bodies, and vendor partners to ensure alignment with certification standards and curriculum updates.

Product & Portfolio Oversight
- Collaborate with Curriculum, Instructional Design, Platforms, Courseware, Delivery, and Portfolio teams to refine product design processes, standards, and quality controls.
- Support the ongoing review and maintenance of Data and Cloud portfolios, ensuring products remain current, competitive, and aligned with market demand.
- Maintain subject matter expertise in Cloud technologies and Data Engineering to support product development and portfolio growth.
- Identify opportunities for reusable, adaptable, and scalable learning propositions for both public programmes and client-specific solutions.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in Cloud and Data Engineering.
Your Experience
We are seeking a cloud and Data Engineering expert with:
- Extensive industry experience in Cloud and Data Engineering.
- A proven track record in designing and delivering learning solutions across self-paced, instructor-led, blended, and virtual formats to address diverse business needs.
- Ability to balance scalability and reuse while addressing context-specific demands.
- Experience in estimating solution development effort and adhering to timelines.
- Demonstratable thought leadership, e.g., through blogs, webinars, or advisory roles.
- Confidence working with senior client stakeholders (e.g., L&D managers, capability managers, functional leads).
- Relationships with vendor/accreditation/professional bodies (preferred).
