Finatal is exclusively partnering with a PE Fund as they continue to invest heavily in the data capabilities of their portfolio companies. Sitting within the Value Creation team, this role offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery across a portfolio of PE-backed businesses. Working directly with CEOs, CFOs, and CTOs, you will help shape data strategies, define target-state architectures, and support the delivery of modern data platforms that enable reporting, forecasting, advanced analytics, data science, AI, and wider business growth.
The role is suited to someone from a Data Engineering, Data Platform or Architecture background who enjoys remaining close to technology whilst having greater influence over business and technology decisions. You'll be involved in platform design and development, cloud architecture, and engineering best practices. You'll also support teams across data warehousing, orchestration, CI/CD, governance, and platform modernisation initiatives, helping establish the foundations required for analytics, data science, and AI use cases across a range of PE-backed businesses.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
