A fast-growing AI SaaS company is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead and develop its growing Data Engineering function.
This is an exciting opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of the company’s growth. As Data Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading a talented engineering team, supporting delivery, improving ways of working and ensuring high-quality data solutions are delivered for customers.
Working closely with Product, AI, Engineering teams and external customers, you’ll play a key role in translating requirements into successful delivery. You’ll mentor engineers, manage priorities and help create an environment where technical teams can produce their best work.
This is primarily a leadership role rather than a hands-on coding position, however you’ll need the technical depth to challenge decisions, review approaches and maintain strong engineering standards.
What you'll be doing
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Engineers.
- Manage team delivery, priorities and engineering best practice.
- Build a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including external customers.
- Support the delivery of bespoke data and analytics products within customer environments.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight across data engineering solutions.
- Review technical approaches, ensuring quality, scalability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product, AI and Engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Support recruitment, coaching and the continued growth of the Data Engineering function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
