Data Governance Analyst
Data Governance Analyst – Metadata
Join a leading organisation in shaping its data-driven future as a Data Governance Analyst – Metadata. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strategic data and AI initiatives during a period of significant business transformation. You will play a key role in developing and enhancing metadata management capabilities that support trusted, well-managed, and discoverable data products across the organisation.
The Role
- Support the planning and delivery of the metadata roadmap, taking ownership of key initiatives to ensure successful implementation.
- Develop and optimise capabilities within tools such as Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog to improve metadata management.
- Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to enable high-quality data delivery and support governance outcomes.
- Promote the value of metadata tooling by demonstrating features and capabilities across teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve data processes through automation and enhancements in metadata tooling.
- Coach stakeholders on connecting business context with technical metadata management, emphasising the importance and value of metadata.

What You’ll Do
Support the execution of the organisation’s metadata strategy and ownership of key project deliverables.
- Enhance the functionality and organisational value of metadata tools to maximise their usefulness.
- Work closely with Data Owners and Stewards to embed governance practices using advanced tooling.
- Demonstrate metadata features to foster understanding and adoption across teams.
- Identify automation opportunities to streamline data processes and improve efficiency.
- Provide training and advisory support to stakeholders on metadata management best practices and the importance of business context.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, best practices, and the purpose of metadata management (DAMA qualification is desirable).
- At least 2 years’ experience in a data governance role within the Financial Sector.
- Hands-on experience with Collibra or similar tools (Informatica, Alation, Atacama) with awareness of Databricks Unity Catalog.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple, non-technical language.
- Adaptability to fast-paced, evolving environments.
- A growth mindset with a keen interest in developing expertise in data and AI governance technologies.

Package
Salary: £60,000
- Permanent, full-time role based in Eastleigh with hybrid working options.
