Data Governance and Quality Lead

Salary: £46,800 – £50,000 per annum Contract: 18 months fixed term Hours per week: 35 hours (flexible working options) Location: Hybrid (minimum 2 days/week on-site at head office in Wigston, Leicester)

The successful applicant must have the pre-existing right to work in the UK.

About the Role

The Data Governance & Quality Lead will establish and embed effective data governance, stewardship, and data quality practices across our Dynamics 365 ecosystem and connected applications.

The role will:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, process owners, data owners, and technical teams to drive data quality, accuracy, and operational excellence.
  • Implement a robust governance framework, define data ownership/accountability structures, and lead data improvement initiatives across key business processes.
  • Deliver data cleansing, root cause analysis, and targeted remediation activities using Microsoft Dataverse and the Power Platform.
  • Champion a data accountability culture by establishing governance standards, policies, controls, metrics, and stewardship practices for sustainable data integrity.

What You’ll Bring

You must have:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality management, data stewardship, and cleansing within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) environments.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles and their application in complex business settings.
  • Hands-on experience with data profiling, cleansing, and ETL tools (understanding of categorising issues, analysing impacts, and driving solutions).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate business processes into data quality requirements and best practices.
  • Expertise in developing or operating data governance frameworks, standards, and controls and embedding data quality rules in operational processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both business and technical teams, while maintaining independent accountability for outcomes.
  • Attention to detail balanced with a pragmatic, outcome-driven approach.

Essential Criteria

✔ Demonstrable experience in data governance, quality, cleansing, ownership, and stewardship in D365 environments. ✔ Master Data Management (MDM) experience. ✔ Familiarity with establishing/operating Data Owner and Data Steward models. ✔ Data profiling, root cause analysis, and issue categorisation using profiling, cleansing, and ETL tools. ✔ Ability to translate business processes into data quality requirements. ✔ Knowledge of implementing governance frameworks, standards, and controls. ✔ Strong attention to detail and decision-making autonomy. ✔ Self-managed, able to drive measurable data improvements.
