Data Steward
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Data Governance Consultant to support and strengthen enterprise-wide data governance within a leading organisation. This is an opportunity to play a key role in helping build trusted, high-quality data foundations across a complex, data-rich environment supporting critical national infrastructure.
6 month contract
INSIDE IR35
Requires travel once a week to London office (Central London)
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting data governance standards, policies and best practices
- Partnering with teams across the wider organisation to improve data governance adoption
- Monitoring and improving data quality, integrity and consistency
- Supporting access management and role-based access controls (RBAC)
- Assisting with metadata management and data cataloguing using Microsoft Purview
- Supporting data lifecycle processes and governance controls
- Investigating and helping resolve data quality issues
- Contributing to data literacy and governance training initiatives across the business
- Supporting GDPR and broader data protection compliance activities

What we’re looking for

- Experience in data governance, data stewardship, data analysis or data management roles
- Good understanding of data quality, metadata management and access controls
- Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalogue/governance tools
- Knowledge of GDPR, data protection and governance best practices
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
