Data Steward

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Data Governance Consultant to support and strengthen enterprise-wide data governance within a leading organisation. This is an opportunity to play a key role in helping build trusted, high-quality data foundations across a complex, data-rich environment supporting critical national infrastructure.

6 month contract

INSIDE IR35

Requires travel once a week to London office (Central London)

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting data governance standards, policies and best practices
  • Partnering with teams across the wider organisation to improve data governance adoption
  • Monitoring and improving data quality, integrity and consistency
  • Supporting access management and role-based access controls (RBAC)
  • Assisting with metadata management and data cataloguing using Microsoft Purview
  • Supporting data lifecycle processes and governance controls
  • Investigating and helping resolve data quality issues
  • Contributing to data literacy and governance training initiatives across the business
  • Supporting GDPR and broader data protection compliance activities

  • Experience in data governance, data stewardship, data analysis or data management roles
  • Good understanding of data quality, metadata management and access controls
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalogue/governance tools
  • Knowledge of GDPR, data protection and governance best practices
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
