Data Governance Manager | London | £60,000–£70,000 + Benefits | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)

We're supporting a well-established UK organisation that is investing heavily in its data capabilities and looking to appoint a Data Governance Manager to drive the implementation and adoption of a company-wide data governance framework.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both business and technical teams, taking ownership of data governance initiatives and improving data quality, discoverability, and trust across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and rollout of a data catalogue solution across the business
  • Configure and maintain metadata, business glossaries, taxonomies, and data lineage
  • Develop and embed data governance policies, standards, and best practices
  • Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models
  • Establish data quality monitoring and governance processes
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple business functions
  • Drive user adoption through training, communication, and change management activities

Required Experience

  • Experience implementing or managing a data catalogue or metadata management platform (Alation, Precisely, Collibra, Informatica, Atlan, Microsoft Purview, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
  • Experience working with data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of SQL, databases, data structures, and data integration concepts
  • Understanding of modern data environments including data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud platforms
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Real estate, property, or asset management sector experience
  • GIS or spatial data knowledge
  • Data quality tooling experience
  • GDPR and data privacy knowledge
  • Experience establishing data contracts between producers and consumers
