Data Management Lead - Enterprise AI transformation (Inside IR35)

We specialise in delivering high-impact data solutions across Data Management, Data Governance, Cloud Data Platforms, AI Enablement, and Advanced Analytics. Headquartered in Sydney with offices across the UK, Europe, and APAC, Billigence partners with organisations to design and implement modern data capabilities that drive better decision-making and business outcomes. Our teams work on complex, enterprise-scale transformation programmes across industries including retail, financial services, and technology.

About the role: We are looking for an experienced Data Management Lead to support a major enterprise AI transformation programme through to March 2027.

This role will support multiple AI and data use cases across a large-scale roadmap, helping to improve the quality, structure, governance, and usability of enterprise data that underpins AI initiatives across the organisation. The successful candidate will work across business and technology teams to drive scalable data management practices within a complex and evolving environment.

What you'll do: Lead and support enterprise-wide data management initiatives aligned to the AI roadmap Work closely with business, technology, governance, and analytics teams to improve data quality, ownership, lineage, and controls Help define and implement scalable data management frameworks, standards, and operating models Support the identification and remediation of data issues impacting AI and reporting use cases Drive stakeholder engagement across multiple business functions to establish trusted and governed data practices Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and governance teams to align data strategy with delivery objectives Support metadata, master data, reference data, and data quality initiatives across critical domains Contribute to the development of sustainable governance and stewardship capabilities within a large enterprise environment Operate effectively within fast-moving and evolving programmes where processes and structures are still maturing

What you'll need: Strong experience delivering Data Management or Data Governance initiatives within large enterprise organisations Experience supporting complex transformation or AI-enabled programmes Strong understanding of core data management principles including data quality, metadata, lineage, stewardship, and governance Ability to engage and influence senior business and technology stakeholders Experience operating in complex, ambiguous, or immature data environments Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery Experience within retail, consumer, or large-scale enterprise environments is beneficial Familiarity with modern data platforms and governance tooling is advantageous
