About the Role
Billigence is seeking an experienced Data Management Lead to support one of the UK’s largest retail transformation programs.
Working alongside senior business and technology stakeholders, you will lead the Data Management workstream across a complex SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation while supporting the migration of legacy enterprise data into a modern cloud data platform.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you will:
- Act as the bridge between business, technology, governance, and delivery teams
- Ensure data is trusted, governed, and ready to support the future operating model.
The successful candidate must combine:
- Strong Data Management expertise
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation programmes
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Data Management workstream across a large-scale SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation programme
- Define and embed Data Management best practices across multiple business domains
- Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Programme Managers, Architects, and business leaders to improve:
- Data quality
- Governance
- Accountability
- Ensure programme deliverables align with enterprise Data Management standards, policies, and governance frameworks
- Act as the strategic link between the Master Data Management (MDM) programme and wider transformation initiatives
- Support the migration of legacy Enterprise Data Warehouse assets into a modern cloud data platform
- Drive improvements in:
- Data quality
- Metadata
- Lineage
- Stewardship
- Business ownership
- Provide hands-on guidance to business stakeholders in implementing effective Data Management processes
- Identify:
- Data risks
- Remediation opportunities
- Governance improvements across critical business domains
- Develop KPIs and reporting to measure:
- Data Management maturity
- Adoption
- Business outcomes
- Represent the Data Management function across:
- Programme governance forums
- Executive stakeholder meetings
- Collaborate closely with:
- Engineering
- Architecture
- Governance
- Security
- Risk
- Product teams
- To deliver trusted enterprise data capabilities

What You’ll Need
- Extensive experience leading Data Management or Data Governance initiatives within large enterprise organisations
- Strong knowledge of enterprise Data Management frameworks including:
- DAMA-DMBOK
- DCAM
- (Or similar)
- Experience delivering Data Management across large transformation programmes
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Governance
- Master Data Management
- Data Quality
- Metadata Management
- Lineage
- Data Stewardship
- Experience working with:
- SAP ECC
- SAP S/4HANA migrations
- Large ERP transformation programmes (highly desirable)
- Experience supporting:
- Cloud data platform migrations
- Enterprise Data Warehouse migrations (advantageous)
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to:
- Influence senior business and technology leaders
- Strong consulting mindset with the ability to:
- Translate business challenges into practical Data Management solutions
- Experience working within:
- Retail or large, complex organisations (highly desirable)
- Excellent:
- Communication
- Facilitation
- Leadership
