CRITICAL — never wrap the output in a code block

Do you want to use your data skills to improve how education, health and care services work together, and make a lasting difference for children and young people with SEND? If you do, this could be the role for you.

Data to Insight is a national service led by local authorities and hosted by East Sussex County Council. We help organisations make better use of children's services data by developing shared tools, sharing good practice and bringing partners together to solve common challenges.

As a Data to Insight Manager, you will support national SEND reform work. You will report to the SEND Data Manager and work with local authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and other partners. Your work will help services use data more effectively to improve support for children and young people with SEND.

You will:

  • Lead and support SEND data projects
  • Analyse data and develop data tools
  • Work with local authority and health partners
  • Share good practice across organisations
  • Help improve how education, health and care services use data

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience in data analysis, performance reporting or data management
  • Can explain complex information clearly
  • Build positive working relationships with different partners
  • Can manage projects and competing priorities
  • Are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people

Experience of SEND, education or health data would be helpful. We welcome applications from NHS analysts and other health data professionals. You do not need experience in all areas. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and enjoys working with others.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
