Volunteer Information Manager/Technical Adviser

  • Advise and lead on the development of the database, systems and communication tools;
  • Support users/contributors.

Essential Competencies

  • Working knowledge of IT information management systems;
  • Extensive Knowledge of database development and packages;
  • Ability to translate user requirements to user-friendly systems;
  • Knowledge of MS365 information tools would be an advantage;
  • Methodical with attention to detail;
  • Ability to find innovative low cost solutions;
  • Able to work remotely and unsupervised;
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues would be an advantage but not essential;
  • Able to manage own workload.

What will you be doing?

Data Manager for Development of IT Systems for Crowdsourced Content for Sustainability App wanted.

Our app is being designed to help individuals and communities living more sustainably while cutting costs. By providing practical advice and small, achievable changes, the app helps users cut household bills and reduce their carbon footprint. It will include features to encourage and reward engagement and friend referrals/sharing, including gamification.

We're looking for a UK-based experienced Information Manager/Technologist to advise and lead on the development of the IT tool suite and systems that will support to support, initially, a small but growing team of researchers. Building on this, we are keen to hear from people who could also assist us to develop a platform that will support crowdsourcing at scale, and the effective management and curation of data.

As a vital member of our research team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating volunteer contributions and setting up systems to ensure the E-Save app and other portals provide valuable, accurate information to users.

  • Make Sustainability Accessible: Ensure the app is user-friendly and provides practical advice that appeals to individuals more concerned with saving money than sustainability, making sustainable living accessible to a broader audience.
