Data Migration Consultant
Data Migration Consultant – S/4HANA Core Migration from JD Edwards
Masentó is working with a leading customer seeking a Data Migration Consultant to support a migration to SAP S/4HANA (initial 6-month contract with extension potential). The role will require travel to Leeds during critical phases of the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the end-to-end data migration strategy from legacy JD Edwards into SAP S/4HANA
- Lead data extraction, cleansing, mapping, transformation, and loading for key data objects, including:
- Master data (e.g., material master, customer/vendor master, inventory BOMs)
- Transactional data objects (e.g., open orders, financial balances)
- Define and build data migration objects, utilising SAP migration tooling such as:
- SAP Migration Cockpit
- LTMC (Legacy Transformation in Migration Cockpit)
- LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench)
- Equivalent ETL tools
- Work closely with functional workstreams to:
- Define and agree data mapping rules from JDE source structures to SAP S/4HANA target structures
- Own data quality assurance throughout the project, including:
- Data profiling & cleansing
- Reconciliation activities
- Plan, execute, and support:
- Test data loads and mock cutovers
- Dress rehearsals
- Go-live data cutover migrations
- Validate migrated data alignment against legacy JD Edwards records via:
- Business logic & reconciliation testing
- Produce and maintain:
- Data migration documentation, including:
- Mapping specifications
- Cutover run-sheets
- Quality & certification reports
- Data migration documentation, including:
- Support regulatory/validation requirements (GxP/CSV compliance) in regulated pharmaceutical/biotech environments
- Act as liaison between:
- Systems integration (SI) partners
- Client functional teams & data owners
- Stakeholders to ensure data readiness at key milestones

Required qualifications, skills, and knowledge:
- Proven experience delivering legacy JD Edwards to SAP S/4HANA migration projects
- Hands-on expertise with SAP data migration tools, including:
- Migration Cockpit
- LTMC/LTMOM
- LSMW
- BODS (Boomi) or comparable ETL frameworks
- Strong ability to:
- Extract raw data from legacy JDE systems
- Transform, enrich, and load data into SAP tables & structures
- Deeptechnical insight into core SAP modules, covering:
- Financials (FI/CO)
- Materials Management (MM)
- Sales & Distribution (SD)
- Production Planning (PP) where relevant to scope
- Commercially practised experience supporting:
- Mock loads and controlled validation cuts
- Full cutover execution & validation
- Own meaningful data quality, reconciliation, and rollback procedures
- Epidemiology, pharmacy, or cross-industry experience in regulated data environments preferred.
