Data Migration Manager
Hybrid Role – [2 days office based] Mon–Fri, 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
The primary purpose of this hybrid role is to define, own, and be fully accountable for all data migration activities within Biffa. As the business undergoes transformation programmes with new SaaS systems, consolidation of legacy platforms, and a rapid merger & acquisition (M&A) pipeline, data migration has become a critical priority.
This role focuses on technical and design-led activities, working across all business divisions, with finance and ERP system expertise (specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365, D365) to ensure seamless data integration. The role collaborates with:
- Data Architects
- Product Teams (Dayforce & D365)
- Business stakeholders to develop re-usable migration patterns, enhancing data quality before system loading.
The Data Migration Manager leads all technical aspects of extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), utilising established methodologies and toolsets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
- Define the data migration strategy, including data cleansing approaches, and identify the technologies needed to optimise migration efficiency.
- Create and maintain the Data Migration Plan, aligning cycles, resourcing, and timelines with overall business projects.
- Partner with Finance teams to validate and reconcile migrated data against source system financial records, explaining any discrepancies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
