Job Title: SQL Data Modeller

Contract: Outside IR35

Duration: 3 months with strong chance of extension

Location: Leeds, 2x per week

Our client is looking for an experienced SQL Data Modeller to join their data team and design/build high-performing semantic models that will underpin Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting. Working with data held in Amazon Redshift, you'll create a logical, business-friendly data layer that enables accurate, scalable analytics across a complex organisation.

This is not a dashboard development role. They're looking for someone with deep SQL and data modelling expertise who can turn complex data into clean, performant semantic models.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and optimise semantic models that support Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting.
  • Develop robust SQL-based data models that transform complex datasets into clear, business-friendly structures.
  • Improve the performance, scalability and usability of reporting datasets.
  • Apply strong data modelling principles to create reliable and consistent analytical layers.
  • Work with data engineers to understand underlying data structures and ensure models are built effectively on top of Amazon Redshift.
  • Help shape how the organisation consumes data by creating a trusted, accessible reporting foundation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
