About the role
Node4 seeks a skilled Data Platform Consultant with technical expertise, business acumen, and excellent communication skills to deliver innovative data solutions. You’ll understand client needs, design and implement data architectures, and ensure high-quality data services that add business value. Node4 is a growing technology company valuing innovation, client satisfaction, and professional growth. You’ll work on exciting projects, develop skills, and significantly impact client success.
We work with diverse businesses, from fast-growing startups to large multinationals across various sectors. In the public sector, we deliver data implementation programmes for Central Government Departments, such as acting as the strategic data partner for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. This experience provides exceptional insight into data-driven decisions in different contexts, supporting strategic decision-making in various settings.
Our clients are mainly UK-based. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to client sites and our UK offices for team gatherings.
We lead our customers on their journey from traditional reporting to discovery and intervention, using business data effectively and surfacing critical information in the right way at the right time, to drive better business outcomes. The successful candidate will be excited by a role in which new challenges are constantly presented for us to solve.
The data problems we solve are diverse and evolving, requiring skills to identify, access, explore and query various database platforms, including on-premises SQL databases, IaaS and PaaS SQL, cloud databases, and application APIs.
The role demands strong, extensive data engineering skills to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into suitable repositories and models, collaborating with colleagues to solve each new problem.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
