Senior Data Platform Engineer – Hybrid (London)
I'm partnering with a fast-growing clean energy technology company that is accelerating the transition to a smarter, more sustainable energy future.
Operating at the intersection of energy, software, and data, they have built a sophisticated platform that processes high-volume operational and market data in real time, enabling intelligent decision-making at scale.
Following significant growth and expansion into multiple international markets, they are continuously investing in their engineering and data capabilities.
This is not a traditional Data Engineering role.
You’ll be building and scaling the operational data platform that powers a core revenue-generating function of the business.
The systems you build will support:
- forecasting
- optimisation
- reconciliation
- real-time operational decision-making
Reliability, latency, and scalability matter because the platform sits directly in the path of commercial outcomes.
If you enjoy building production-grade systems where data drives action rather than reporting, this could be an excellent opportunity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
