Data Privacy Specialist

Office of General Counsel - Global Data Privacy Team - Leading international law firm

A leading global law firm is looking for a Data Privacy Specialist to join the Global Data Privacy Team within its Office of General Counsel. This team coordinates the firm's worldwide data privacy compliance programme and supports its member firms and entities across the globe on every aspect of data protection.

Working closely with the Global Data Privacy Counsel and Data Privacy Lawyer, you'll play a hands-on part in one of the most in-demand areas of law and compliance, with the mentoring, structure and international reach of a top-tier firm behind you. Prior data privacy experience is helpful but not essential: what matters most is a genuine appetite to build real expertise in this field.

Why this role stands out

  • A future-proof specialism. Data privacy is one of the fastest-growing, most sought-after areas in the profession. This is a rare chance to build deep, marketable expertise in it from within a genuinely global function.
  • Truly global exposure. You'll work on multi-jurisdictional matters spanning the firm's member firms and entities worldwide, from cross-border data transfers to global surveys and firm-wide policy.
  • Learn from the best. You'll be mentored directly by senior in-house privacy counsel, gaining structured development and hands-on experience across the full privacy lifecycle.
  • Varied, substantive work. No two days look the same, spanning DPIAs and data processing agreements, data subject requests, client questionnaires, policy design and template-building.
  • Real impact. Your work directly shapes and strengthens how a major international firm manages data privacy compliance across the globe.
  • Open to a range of backgrounds. Whether you already have privacy experience or are looking to move into the field, a strong interest and the right attitude count for as much as your CV.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
