Senior Data Project Manager
Location: London (2 days per week on-site) Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract (with strong potential for extension) Interview Process: Immediate Interviews
We're supporting a leading financial services organisation on a critical data transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Data Project Manager to join the team.
This is an outstanding opportunity to lead high-impact data initiatives within a heavily regulated environment, driving governance, compliance, and regulatory-focused projects while managing a team of skilled data professionals.
The Role
As the Data Project Manager, you will:
- Take ownership of key data programmes, ensuring successful delivery across data governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data management initiatives.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Lead a team of 6 Data Engineers to deliver strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of data-focused projects and programmes within a regulated environment.
- Drive data governance initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Manage compliance and regulatory workstreams, mitigating risks and ensuring timely delivery.
- Oversee and support a team of 6 Data Engineers, providing leadership and direction through the project lifecycle.
- Engage with business, technology, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
- Monitor project milestones, budgets, risks, dependencies, and reporting to senior leadership.
Required Experience
- Proven track record delivering large-scale data projects in Financial Services, Banking, or other regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, and Regulatory Compliance frameworks.
- Prior experience managing technical data teams, ideally including Data Engineers.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
