The Role

The Data Protection Analyst (DPA) will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring all Data Loss Prevention (DLP) events for Proofpoint’s Managed Services clients, escalating necessary events via approved paths
  • Performing health checks and pulling monthly metrics from DLP consoles to support Program Analysts (PAs) and Program Strategy Managers (PSMs) with monthly reporting
  • Ensuring all tasks align with the firm’s ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS), including annual training and ad-hoc spot checks to maintain compliance
  • Understanding data handling and client data protection responsibilities

Every Day, You’ll:

  • Monitor DLP events for Managed Services clients, escalating issues proactively
  • Conduct health checks for all DLP environments, adhering to Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Provide policy recommendations to consultants based on trends in daily monitoring
  • Pull metrics from DLP consoles to assist with client presentations and reporting
  • Maintain customer policies in DLP environments, ensuring alignment with client requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Requirements

  • Experience in information security, digital forensics, intelligence, risk management, or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or another applicable field or commensurate experience
  • Ability to analyze data sets and uncover key trends
  • Demonstrated organizational, scheduling, and multitasking skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and passion for solving complex problems collaboratively
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
  • Strong consultative skills and judgment ability
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to various audiences

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with DLP, CASB, SIEM, email/web gateways
  • Experience with data analysis for business intelligence
  • Background in computer/cyber forensics and investigations
  • Certifications like Network+, Security+, SSCP, ITIL, ISO 27001, or CFE
