Data Privacy & Commercial Contracts Counsel
Global Bank

A leading global financial institution is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to join its EMEA Legal team in London, supporting the group's UK and European banking entities.
This is a broad, high-impact role combining data privacy expertise with commercial contracts and procurement experience. You'll advise on UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and wider EMEA privacy law, manage cross-border data transfer frameworks, oversee the firm's Data Protection Policy, and support DPIAs, LIAs and DSARs.
You'll also lead a small team providing legal support on procurement and commercial agreements, including SaaS, cloud, outsourcing, technology licensing and professional services contracts while partnering closely with Procurement on strategy and negotiations with key suppliers.

What we're looking for:
- Qualified solicitor with 4+ years' PQE (in-house, private practice, or both)
- Strong technical grounding in UK/EU GDPR, cross-border transfers, DPIAs/TIAs and DSARs
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Exposure to technology, outsourcing or procurement matters
- Familiarity with UK PRA/FCA outsourcing and operational resilience requirements, EBA Guidelines and EU DORA is a strong plus
- Excellent judgment, stakeholder management and the confidence to work independently while knowing when to escalate
