Role: Data Protection Officer (Remote)

Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)
Job Type: Contract
Payout: $40 - $70/hour

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Data Protection Officer (PII Compliance) to work on a contract basis. The role involves overseeing data protection strategies and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. The position requires expertise in handling personally identifiable information and mitigating risks associated with data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures in alignment with global privacy laws.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on data protection risks, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Train employees on data privacy best practices and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CISSP is preferred.
  • Experience with data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and privacy by design frameworks.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance gaps and implement solutions.
