Role Summary

We are seeking a Data Quality Lead to provide functional and strategic oversight of data quality across analytical platforms, dashboards, and reporting outputs.

This role ensures that KPIs, metrics, and analytical results are consistent, accurate, and aligned across multiple systems and outputs. The Data Quality Lead bridges business expectations and technical execution, overseeing KPI validation, ontology alignment, cross-report consistency, and overall data trustworthiness across Abu Dhabi Government decision-support platforms.

The successful candidate will have 8–10 years’ experience, deep technical expertise, and the ability to work across data engineering, analytics, and policy teams to ensure data is reliable, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

KPI, Ontology & Cross-Output Validation

  • Own validation of KPIs, metrics, and business rules across dashboards and reports
  • Ensure consistency of definitions, calculations, and results across multiple outputs
  • Validate alignment between business requirements, data models, and analytical outputs
  • Perform functional testing of analytics products across departments and use cases

Governance & Quality Oversight

  • Define and enforce enterprise data quality standards and validation frameworks
  • Review and approve data quality rules implemented
  • Oversee reporting validation performed
  • Act as the final quality authority before executive or leadership releases

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to clarify expectations and definitions
  • Support vendor assurance by validating externally delivered dashboards and datasets
  • Manage escalations related to critical data quality issues
  • Provide guidance on data quality implications during platform and feature changes

Strategy, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Track data quality KPIs and trends across platforms
  • Identify systemic issues and recommend strategic improvements
  • Contribute to reference data, master data, and metadata management from a technical perspective.
  • Contribute to data governance, standards, and operating models
  • Mentor and guide DQ Analysts and DQ Developers

Required Experience & Skills

Experience

  • 8–10+ years’ experience in data quality, analytics assurance, or data governance roles
  • Strong experience validating KPIs, metrics, and analytical outputs
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and leadership-facing analytics

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of data models, ETL processes, and analytics pipelines
  • Ability to review SQL, transformation logic, and validation frameworks
  • Experience overseeing dashboard and reporting quality
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata, and ontology concepts

Personal Attributes

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to balance business priorities with technical constraints
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High accountability for data trust and credibility

Desirable / Nice to Have

  • Experience leading data quality functions in government environments
  • Exposure to enterprise BI platforms and large-scale analytics ecosystems
  • Experience defining or implementing data governance frameworks
