Alto Software Group is a B2B SaaS company that powers over half of all UK housing transactions annually. We design software solutions that connect businesses and consumers, providing a seamless platform for estate agents and homebuilders. Our mission is to enhance efficiency, accelerate transactions, reduce risks, and elevate the end-customer experience.

While not a start-up, we foster a start-up mindset—encouraging innovation, accountability, and agility to achieve ambitious growth.

The Role

Alto seeks a bold and strategic Data Science Lead to architect and lead the company’s data science capabilities from inception. Our Mission Control platform is already delivering high-value data, and this lead role will drive the transformation of data into predictive insights—solidifying Alto’s competitive advantage.

You will bridge data science, product, and commercial strategy, working closely with leadership on a platform poised for expansion.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and own Alto’s data science roadmap, prioritising initiatives with clear ROI and measurable commercial impact
  • Build, deploy and maintain production-grade predictive models covering churn prediction, customer health, propensity forecasting, and capacity modelling
  • Design and execute experiments to validate pricing, product, and operational improvements, embedding high statistical rigor across the business
  • Partner with Platform & Data Engineering to productionise models on Mission Control, specifying data quality and feature standards for reliable outcomes
  • Develop segmentation and scoring frameworks that enable Customer Operations and Commercial teams to act directly on insights
  • Collaborate with the Head of AI Operations to identify AI-driven automation opportunities from data science outputs
  • Surface actionable insights using ThoughtSpot and AI-enabled reporting for senior stakeholders, including executive-level briefings
  • Mentor analysts, nurture internal expertise, and build a scalable data science team—aspiring for team collaboration over a siloed approach

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
