About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Data Science Manager to join our team at Data Idols. This leadership role is based in London with a hybrid working model, offering an exciting opportunity to influence key business decisions through data science. The successful candidate will lead a talented team of Data Scientists focused on developing innovative models and analytics solutions that enhance customer personalization, improve marketing effectiveness, and support commercial objectives. As a pivotal figure at the intersection of data science, customer insights, and business strategy, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the delivery of impactful data products. Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading or managing Data Science teams within a commercial or retail environment.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and customer analytics.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying customer-focused models and algorithms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with MLOps, experimentation frameworks, and data science best practices.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degrees are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development and strategic direction of the data science team.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models that enhance customer personalization and engagement.
  • Translate complex customer and behavioral data into actionable insights and recommendations that support marketing strategies and business growth.
  • Establish and promote best practices in experimentation, model validation, MLOps, and data science delivery processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product development, and business strategy to ensure that data-driven solutions are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress effectively.
  • Identify new opportunities for leveraging data science to create value across the organization.
  • Support the scaling of analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure the robustness and scalability of deployed models in production environments.
