WRK digital are proud to be partnering exclusively with a high-profile e-commerce organisation who are currently shortlisting for a Data Science Manager to join them on a permanent basis.
As the Data Science Manager, you will bridge the gap between strategic vision and technical execution across two core disciplines. You will guide the overarching direction of both data science and analytics, ensuring alignment with business goals through a well-defined and dynamic roadmap. By acting as a hands-on technical leader, you will empower your Senior Data Scientist to build robust machine learning models, and your Senior Data Analyst to scale impactful reporting processes
Role Requirements:
- Strategic Direction & Roadmap: Define, build, and own the combined data science and analytics roadmap, ensuring projects across both workstreams align with broader company objectives and drive measurable value.
- Dual-Workstream Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and provide strategic guidance to the Senior Data Scientist and Senior Data Analyst, ensuring best practices are maintained across both predictive modeling and business intelligence.
- Hands-on Technical Support: Actively participate in the technical work. Provide direct support in developing machine learning models, building complex analytical pipelines, and structuring advanced reporting frameworks.
- Resource & Capacity Management: Oversee workload and project allocation across the two streams. Regularly report on team resources, track project velocity, and ensure efficient deployment of your senior reports and their subsequent teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
