Data Scientist – The AA

About The AA

The nation’s leading motoring organisation for over a century. We provide a wide range of products and services—from roadside assistance and insurance to cutting-edge driving technologies—while evolving alongside the industry.

As part of our Chief Operating Office (COO), we drive innovation, growth, and operational excellence. Data science plays a pivotal role in shaping this future, and we’re investing heavily in AI, tools, and platforms to unlock its full potential.

The Role

As a Data Scientist, you’ll turn complex data into actionable insights that enhance customer experiences, optimise operations, and drive commercial success. Here’s how:

  • Work on real-world challenges across forecasting, churn prediction, customer lifetime value, marketing segmentation, and product development.
  • Build scalable statistical models, machine learning solutions, and AI/QLM-enabled algorithms to improve decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Data, Engineering, Architecture, and AI Centre of Excellence teams to embed solutions into AA platforms, products, and channels.
  • Translate technical insights into clear, business-impactful recommendations through presentations, workshops, and stakeholder conversations.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and deploy statistical models, machine learning pipelines, and predictive analytics for forecasting, product optimisation, and performance improvements.
  • Apply data mining, algorithmic techniques, and AI (including LLMs) to solve complex business problems.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, and AI teams to embed algorithms into AA’s digital ecosystem.
  • Analyse trends, assess risks, and uncover insights that align with commercial and customer-focused outcomes.
  • Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and alignment with data governance, GDPR, and ethical usage standards.
  • communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, turning complexity into clear, actionable recommendations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
