Data Scientist – Audit & Advisory

About The Role

This role is a critically important part of Latham’s Audit & Advisory team. As our Data Scientist, you will:

  • Develop advanced analytics and data science models to support critical decision-making across functions, departments, and geographies.
  • Work closely with teams to translate complex insights into actionable business strategies.

Based in our Manchester office, this role offers flexibility, allowing for a hybrid in-office schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Drove by your expertise, execute sophisticated data science solutions to solve key business challenges, delivering actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Aggregate and streamline data from diverse non-server-based sources, identifying new data streams and improving efficiency in data collection and processing.
  • Apply statistics, predictive modelling, and advanced mathematics to:
    • Uncover patterns, trends, and game-changing discoveries in large datasets.
    • Address critical business questions with predictive foresight.
  • Visualise and interpret complex findings for stakeholders—ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Promote collaboration, affirming teamwork and mutual respect across the organisation.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Deep expertise in statistical techniques and predictive modelling, with robust applications (e.g., clustering, regression, time-series forecasting, random forest).
  • Ability to explain advanced analytics models and their results to senior leadership clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Python (essential).

Academic & Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in data science, data consulting, or applied statistics within a high-impact industry.
