About EG Group
EG Group, a leading global convenience retailer, is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team at the Blackburn office. This role is pivotal in driving the adoption of machine learning across the business, offering extensive growth opportunities, significant project exposure, and collaboration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in making data-driven decisions that align with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage pipelines for data analytics and machine learning workflows.
- Ensure high data quality and integrity through automated checks.
- Translate business logic into data science solutions.
- Create predictive models and forecasting solutions.
- Deploy and maintain models using MLOps practices.
- Lead experimentation initiatives to validate hypotheses.
- Use Power BI or Python for data visualization.
- Identify data opportunities to enhance products and processes.
- Collaborate in Agile projects and mentor colleagues.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in a Data Science role.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with Git for version control.
- Skill in data visualization, preferably with Power BI.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
EG Group requires a DBS check for the successful applicant, which will be funded by the company.
