About The Role
We are currently supporting a growing engineering business in their search for a skilled Data Scientist to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement scalable machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions that enhance compliance, risk management, and contractor analytics platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, data engineers, and DevOps specialists, to design, deploy, and optimize predictive models and large language model (LLM)-powered solutions in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone passionate about leveraging data science to solve complex operational challenges and drive innovation within a forward-thinking organization.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data science with practical experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments. Essential qualifications include proficiency in Python and SQL, familiarity with modern ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, and experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. A solid understanding of NLP, LLM architectures, and predictive modeling techniques is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within agile teams are crucial. Candidates with experience in risk modeling, compliance analytics, MLOps, or regulatory environments will have a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine machine learning models for risk scoring, churn prediction, and contractor analytics to support operational decision-making.
- Design and implement LLM and NLP solutions for automated compliance checks, insights generation, and process automation.
- Deploy AI and ML models into cloud-based production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Utilize Microsoft Fabric for data ingestion, transformation, and feature engineering to streamline data workflows.
- Enhance model monitoring, retraining, and optimization processes to maintain high performance and accuracy over time.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams within agile delivery squads to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Contribute to establishing best practices around coding standards, maintainability, and AI-assisted development processes.
