Data Scientist
Data Scientist – Demand & Supply Forecasting
Location: London (hybrid working, 3 office days per week) Employment: Permanent, full-time Bonus: Annual Bonus
Company Overview
Think the The AA is just about roadside assistance? Think again.
For over a century, we’ve evolved and adapted. Today, as the nation’s leading motoring organisation, we offer a wide range of products and services—from roadside assistance and home/motor insurance to cutting-edge driving technologies. As we continue to expand, diversify, and modernise, joining us as a Data Scientist means you’ll play a critical role in shaping our future and being part of this dynamic journey.
Our Chief Operating Office (COO) team provides the stability and structure needed to support growth and innovation—we’re the drivers of change.
The Role: Turning Data Into Action
Data is one of The AA’s biggest opportunities, and we are investing heavily in AI, platforms, and tools to unlock its full potential. As a Data Scientist, you’ll help translate complex data into practical, operational solutions—enhancing demand forecasting, workforce efficiency, and better decision-making across our roadside operations.
This role is focused on demand and supply forecasting, leveraging machine learning to ensure the right patrol capabilities are in place at the right time and location. You’ll tackle real-world challenges such as:
- National workforce planning
- Resource optimisation
- Customer demand analysis
- Service-level improvements
- Operational performance enhancements
We’re looking for someone who thrives on solving real-world problems with data. Your expertise may stem from industries with large-scale, mobile, or nationally deployed workforces, such as logistics, delivery services, utilities, transport, airlines, emergency services, mobility, or roadside operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
