Data Scientist
Data Scientist - Derby Offices (Hybrid)
Join a leading technology and services business at the forefront of delivering transformational AI solutions. As a Data Scientist, you’ll work closely with Senior Data Scientists, engineers, and client teams to develop, test, and deploy machine learning models and insights that tackle real-world business challenges.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with foundational data science skills to grow their expertise in a collaborative and client-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models and analytics solutions
- Clean, process, and analyse structured and unstructured data from diverse sources
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify meaningful patterns and insights
- Collaborate with senior colleagues and stakeholders to understand business challenges and define requirements
- Create clear and effective documentation and visualisations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to improving data science workflows through participation in code reviews and best practice development
- Monitor and maintain model performance, including retraining and validation

Key Skills
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modelling
- Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Strong understanding of data wrangling, statistics, and exploratory data analysis
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn, Tableau, Power BI)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data engineering practices
- Knowledge of SQL and database querying
- Understanding of model deployment techniques and MLOps
- Awareness of AI ethics, fairness, and data privacy

Salary & Benefits
Salary on offer: up to £45k per annum, plus excellent benefits.
