Job title: Data Scientist

Industry: Technology

Contract duration: 12 months

Location: London Waterloo, 5 days onsite

Day rate: Up to £670 per day

The role:

  • Design and deploy machine learning algorithms for industrial applications such as fraud detection and predictive maintenance
  • Work with time series data and dynamical systems, including cleansing, normalisation, and analysis
  • Build and deploy scalable ML solutions using approaches such as MapReduce and streaming
  • Develop software using JavaScript, Java, and Python across the stack
  • Build and maintain frontend components using frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, Backbone, or Angular
  • Deploy software to at least one major cloud platform, GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to support data-driven applications
  • Apply strong data structure and algorithm design skills to real-world engineering problems
  • Operate within an Agile software development environment
  • Bring domain expertise from sectors such as Aerospace, Financial Services, Healthcare, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Public Sector, Power & Utilities, Supply Chain, or Telecommunications

Skills needed:

  • Strong software development experience with JavaScript and Java or Python
  • Experience with Git or other version control software
  • Practical experience with time series analysis and dynamical systems
  • A portfolio of relevant work, GitHub, papers, or similar
  • Solid understanding of common machine learning techniques, applications, and trade-offs
  • Experience deploying to leading cloud platforms
  • Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Security clearance required for this role
