Data Scientist – Product-Driven ML Systems (UK)

This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, product-driven environment where data science directly shapes user experience and business performance at scale. As a Data Scientist, you will design and deploy machine learning systems that power personalization, search, and recommendation features for a global user base.

The role blends advanced statistical modeling, Python-based development, and cloud technologies to solve high-impact, real-world challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, translating complex data into actionable insights and production-ready solutions in a collaborative, remote-first, outcome-driven workplace. Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and productionize machine learning models to improve:
    • Personalisation
    • Search ranking
    • Recommendation systems
  • Design data-driven algorithms that enhance user experience while driving measurable improvements in:
    • Engagement
    • Conversion rates
  • Apply advanced statistical methods and data mining techniques to extract insights from large-scale datasets.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate ML models, ensuring:
    • Scalability
    • Reliability
  • Continuously monitor model performance and iteratively refine solutions using:
    • Real-world data
    • Business feedback
  • Translate business problems into analytical/ML solutions, focusing on impactful metrics like:
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Revenue-driven outcomes
  • Work with cloud infrastructure and data pipelines to push scalable ML workflows.
  • Contribute to experimentation and A/B testing frameworks to validate model effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in:
    • Data Scientist
    • Quantitative Analyst
    • Quantitative Researcher
    • or similar analytical roles
  • Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem, including:
    • pandas
    • NumPy
    • scikit-learn (or equivalents)
  • Firm foundation in:
    • Probability & statistics
    • Machine learning
    • Linear algebra
  • Proven ability to apply ML models to real-world problems with measurable impact (e.g., improving revenue/metrics).
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • SQL
    • Relational databases
  • Experience with cloud platforms preferred (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
  • Hands-on experience:
    • Productionising ML models
    • End-to-end data science pipelines
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, product-oriented fast-paced context with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Degree in:
    • Applied Mathematics
    • Computer Science
    • Engineering
    • Financial Engineering
    • or related quantitative field
  • **+**if advantageous: Experience with:
    • AI tools/agents
    • Apache Spark
    • Gaming industry projects
