About the Role
Blue Light Card is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Decision Sciences team. In this role, you will develop and optimize machine learning models focused on member retention, engagement, churn prediction, and customer lifetime value. Working closely with CRM, marketing, analytics, and business stakeholders, you will transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth and improve the member experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve machine learning models for customer retention and engagement.
- Build predictive models for churn prediction and customer lifetime value (CLV).
- Evaluate and optimize existing data pipelines and model performance.
- Partner with CRM and Lifecycle Marketing teams to support retention strategies.
- Develop forecasting and marketing mix models to support commercial planning.
- Analyze member behavior and marketing performance using advanced statistical techniques.
- Design, execute, and interpret A/B tests and experimentation frameworks.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights.
- Translate business challenges into scalable data science solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver data-driven recommendations.
- Support model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Significant experience as a Data Scientist in marketing analytics, e-commerce, or membership-based businesses.
- Strong Python programming skills for data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with dbt.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, regression analysis, causal inference, and experimental design.
- Experience building predictive models for retention, customer engagement, or churn prediction.
- Knowledge of MLOps concepts and machine learning deployment pipelines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with CRM or Lifecycle Marketing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) modeling techniques such as BG/NBD, Pareto/NBD, or machine learning-based approaches.
- Experience building reusable analytics products and automated reporting solutions.
- Background in loyalty, membership, or subscription-based organizations.
