About The Role
We are currently supporting a growing engineering business in their search for a skilled Data Scientist to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and machine learning initiatives that directly impact operational performance, compliance, and risk management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing scalable ML and AI solutions across various platforms, including compliance, risk, and contractor analytics. You will collaborate closely with AI Engineers, Data Engineers, and DevOps teams to build, deploy, and optimize predictive models and large language model (LLM)-powered solutions in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. This position is ideal for a hands-on data scientist passionate about leveraging AI to solve complex business challenges and drive innovation within a dynamic organization.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data science with proven experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments. Essential qualifications include a solid understanding of predictive modeling, NLP, and LLM architectures. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch is required. Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure is critical, along with familiarity with tools like Microsoft Fabric for data ingestion and transformation. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively. A background in risk modeling, compliance analytics, or operational analytics is advantageous, along with experience in MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and data governance frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models for risk scoring, churn prediction, and contractor analytics to improve operational insights and decision-making processes.
- Build and deploy NLP and LLM solutions for automated compliance checks, insight generation, and other intelligent automation tasks.
- Manage the deployment of AI and ML models into cloud-based production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Utilize Microsoft Fabric for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and feature engineering to support model development.
- Continuously monitor model performance, implement retraining strategies, and optimize models for accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams within agile delivery squads to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
- Communicate complex technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring understanding and buy-in.
- Contribute to establishing best practices around coding standards, maintainability, and AI-assisted development processes.
