The company’s commitment to innovation, integrity, and excellence drives its mission to deliver trusted insights and solutions that help clients succeed in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist III to join our dynamic team at LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions (LNIP). This role focuses on designing, developing, and validating AI-driven capabilities within our flagship product, Protégé in PatentSight. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and large language models (LLMs) to enhance patent analysis workflows. You will play a pivotal role in defining what to build, why it matters, and how to implement scalable solutions that deliver tangible business value. Collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts, you will translate experimental insights into actionable features that empower users to make faster, more accurate decisions in intellectual property management.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a strong educational background in a quantitative or technical field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Data Science. Proven experience in machine learning, NLP, and LLM-based modeling is essential. The candidate should have a solid track record of designing and executing experiments, including model evaluation and iterative improvements. Proficiency in Python programming is required, alongside hands-on experience with generative AI techniques like prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Familiarity with hybrid search strategies, semantic and lexical search, embeddings, and vector databases is also necessary. Experience applying agent frameworks such as Google ADK, LangChain, or AutoGen in real-world scenarios will be highly advantageous. A strong foundation in statistics, large-scale text processing, and data analysis tools is also expected.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
