Data Scientist - Partner Flow Team

Data Scientist – Partner Flow

Hybrid in London, United Kingdom

About iwoca

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To thrive, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

At iwoca, we want to help business owners act with the speed, confidence, and control they need—exactly when it’s required.

  • Already supported 100,000+ businesses, with over £4 billion in funding distributed.
  • A passionate team dedicated to making better finance accessible, along with complementary tools that ease the burdens of running a business.
  • Our mission: support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting economic and community impact.

The Team: Partner Flow

Partner Flow owns the customer journey from the moment a user starts an application on a partner platform through to a completed credit assessment. The team maximises partner-referred conversions by:

  • Optimising the application process for smoothness and efficiency.
  • Collecting the necessary data for accurate credit decisions.

The team is small and cross-functional, blending data science, engineering, design, and product – working collaboratively across:

  • Pre-qualification – Testing the impact of showing offers before applications are submitted.
  • Credit card strategy – Evaluating how credit cards complement iwoca’s existing flexi-loan product.
  • Funnel optimisation – Identifying and removing bottlenecks in the partner-onboarding process.

The Role: Data Scientist – Partner Flow

You’ll drive experimentation and analytics for iwoca’s partner channel—a key growth lever where fintechs and platforms embed iwoca’s lending solutions into their own products.

Core Responsibilities

1. Experimentation & Causal Inference

  • Design and analyse high-stakes experiments, where precise randomisation and interpretation are critical.
  • Go beyond standard A/B testing when classical methods fall short—you’ll guide the business in focusing on what works.
  • Key challenges:
    • Measuring how pre-qualifying customers affects Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV).
    • Understanding interactions between different financial products (e.g., loans + credit cards) when offered to the same customers.

2. Funnel & Competitive Strategy

  • Analyse the entire partner-referred customer journey (from first touch to credit offer).
  • Pinpoint the key friction points that reduce conversions.
  • Study marketplace dynamics, deciphering why customers choose iwoca over competitors (or not) and how to influence those decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
