About the Role

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners is seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist (Associate Director) to lead strategic artificial intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives across the organization. This leadership position combines technical expertise, people leadership, and business strategy, providing an opportunity to shape enterprise-wide AI capabilities while remaining actively involved in solution design and delivery.

As the Lead Data Scientist, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of AI and machine learning projects—from opportunity identification and stakeholder engagement to model development, deployment, monitoring, and business adoption. You will collaborate closely with senior business leaders, product teams, and technology partners to deliver innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experiences, and business performance.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished data science leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a passion for mentoring teams while driving AI innovation within a fast-paced global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics projects.
  • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-value data science initiatives.
  • Develop AI roadmaps and contribute to enterprise AI strategy through structured innovation programs.
  • Design, develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models for business applications.
  • Lead AI proof-of-concept (PoC) development and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of internal and external data scientists.
  • Ensure successful deployment, production handover, monitoring, and lifecycle management of AI solutions.
  • Establish best practices for data science, machine learning engineering, model governance, and experimentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and AI solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data platform, product, and business teams to implement scalable AI solutions.
  • Monitor model performance and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy, reliability, and business impact.
  • Present technical findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
  • Promote innovation and foster a data-driven culture across the organization.

Required Skills

  • Advanced expertise in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Predictive Analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, including:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Azure Machine Learning
    • Databricks
  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and scalable AI architectures.
  • Experience developing and deploying production-grade machine learning models.
  • Knowledge of model monitoring, governance, explainability, and MLOps practices.
  • Experience with feature engineering, model optimization, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Strong business analytics and data visualization capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presentation abilities.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business challenges into AI-driven solutions.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive professional experience leading enterprise Data Science and AI initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional data science teams.
  • Strong experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Experience with Azure, Databricks, or comparable enterprise cloud ecosystems.
  • Previous experience in FMCG, consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, or other fast-paced commercial environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success delivering AI-driven business transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, data ethics, and responsible AI practices.
