Our In-Play betting solutions have solidified our market-leading position, featuring over 1.38 million In-Play sporting events annually. With 750+ concurrent sporting fixtures at peak and more live sports streamed than any other operator in Europe (750,000 streams), we handle over 6 million HTTP requests daily and process more than 1.5 million bets per hour at peak traffic.
The Role
As a Data Scientist, you will:
- Develop probabilistic models that power real-time betting markets.
- Work within the Quantitative Analysis department, where data-driven insights enhance our betting products and services.
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated mathematical models to provide accurate pricing across our sports betting products.
- Collaborate with data, engineering, and trading teams to build smarter analytical solutions.
- Work in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment that fosters technical growth and innovation.
- In-play betting decisions are informed by large-scale probabilistic models, allowing you to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed in-depth analysis of granular datasets to extract actionable insights.
- Utilise statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models for sports betting.
- Build innovative solutions to tackle unstructured, complex problems.
- Evaluate existing models and algorithms to identify areas for improvement.
- Diagnose and resolve data quality issues and bugs affecting core models.
- Perform rigorous statistical validation of models against historical and live data.
- Collaborate closely with trading teams, bringing domain expertise into model development.
- Optimise models for both accuracy and computational efficiency.
- Explore cutting-edge statistical approaches and industry innovations.
Eligibility & Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in probabilistic modelling or predictive analytics is a plus.

Industry Knowledge:
- Strong interest in sports or the online gambling industry.
- Understanding of real-time decision systems.

- Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in building predictive models from complex datasets.
- Expertise in statistical analysis and probability theory applied to real-world scenarios.
- Strong proficiency in Python and R, including experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Ability to optimise models efficiently in real-time environments.
- Experience handling and analysing large-scale datasets (e.g., terabytes-scales).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP).
