The Cyber Resilience team is part of the Digital Technology Group, encompassing Data Security, Identity & Access Management, Security Engineering, IAM Administration, and Privileged Access Management. The team collaborates with Security Operations and Governance, Risk, and Compliance to protect Arup’s platforms, information, and data.

As the Data Security Service Lead, your responsibilities include:

Defining Arup’s new Data Security service, including its:
- Vision
- Operating model
- Roadmap
- Measures of success

Building and establishing the team while defining clear governance structures.

Embedding data protection practices into daily operations across the firm.

Providing single-point ownership for data security outcomes, implementing a Data Security Plan for sustained operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Own and deliver the Data Security Service, covering:
- Vision
- Roadmap
- Operating model
- Measures of success

Translate the Data Security Plan into a prioritised multi-year delivery roadmap, including:
- Governance
- Data classification
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Encryption
- Monitoring
- Resilience

- Work with senior stakeholders and technical teams, converting data security strategy into action:
- Shape priorities

Is This Role Right for You?

Deep expertise in data security, including:
- Data classification
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Encryption
- Data lifecycle protection

Solid understanding of relevant standards and frameworks, such as:
- ISO/IEC 27001
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
- CIS Controls

Proven experience in leading or owning a global or enterprise-scale security service/capability.

Ability to operate effectively at strategic and operational levels, turning vision into sustained operational success.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing:
- Senior leaders
- Technical teams
