Information Security Manager / Data Security Officer
📍 Hull, East Yorkshire | Hybrid
đź’Ľ Full-time, permanent
Our client, a growing international Business Software group, focused on niche industries, is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager / Data Security Officer to establish and lead its first dedicated Information Security function globally.
This is a rare opportunity to build an Information Security function from the ground up within a long-term, stable business software vendor supporting niche manufacturers and industrial organisations across multiple countries.
Reporting directly to the VP of Technology, you will take ownership of the security strategy, technical controls, policies and operational standards protecting a portfolio of cloud-hosted ERP and SaaS platforms.
This is not a role focused solely on governance or maintaining an established programme. You will have the autonomy to assess the current environment, prioritise improvements and create a practical, multi-year security roadmap.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
