Data Security Technical Lead.
Protect data. Enable collaboration. Drive governance.
Are you passionate about helping organisations unlock the full potential of Microsoft 365 while keeping their data secure, compliant, and well-governed? We're looking for a Data Security Technical Lead to take ownership of our Microsoft 365 security and data governance capability, playing a key role in shaping how information is protected and managed across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the implementation and optimisation of Microsoft Purview, working across security, compliance, IT, and business teams to deliver a modern, secure, and compliant digital workplace. You'll be the go-to expert for data security and governance, influencing strategy, driving best practice, and ensuring our Microsoft 365 environment supports both business productivity and regulatory requirements.
What you'll be doing:
Leading the configuration, implementation, and governance of Microsoft Purview across Microsoft 365 and Azure. Delivering and maintaining data protection controls including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), retention policies, sensitivity labels, and access controls. Working with technical and business stakeholders to develop practical, automated governance solutions. Driving data security standards, information architecture, lifecycle management, and governance best practice. Acting as the subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 data governance and compliance. Monitoring governance metrics, analysing trends, and supporting investigations into security and compliance incidents.
What you'll bring:
Strong understanding of data security, information governance, and compliance frameworks. Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Purview or equivalent data governance and compliance technologies. Knowledge of retention, classification, DLP, and information protection controls within Microsoft 365. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Experience gathering requirements, producing technical documentation, and supporting governance initiatives. Ability to obtain Security Check (SC) and NPPV2 clearance.

It would be great if you had:
Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) or related Microsoft Modern Work certifications. Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900). Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate. Experience working with ISO/IEC 27001 controls and standards. Broader knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and cloud security technologies.

Location: Remote
Security Clearance Level: SC and NPPV2 cleared OR eligible.

Salary: Up to £60000.00.
