About the Role
At Suffolk County Council, every role is designed to create a positive difference. As the Databank Administrator within Suffolk Community Libraries, you’ll tackle digital exclusion by supporting residents to gain access to mobile data and essential online services. This role enables you to play a key part in delivering the National Databank, helping vulnerable individuals stay connected through free SIM card distributions.
This varied position sits at the heart of digital inclusion, requiring an organised, people-focused approach to drive meaningful impact for Suffolk’s communities.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Administering the National Databank, including:
- Coordination of referrals from partners and recipients
- Distribution of SIM cards across communities
- Collaboration with suppliers and external partners
- Liaising with recipients and organisations to:
- Gather feedback and measure impact
- Support ongoing community engagement
- Promoting the Databank:
- Internally to team members
- Externally to stakeholders and the public
- Maintaining accurate records:
- Database updates
- Mailing list management
- Generation of reports for analysis
- Providing administrative and financial support, including:
- Processing invoices
- Managing spreadsheets and records
- Preparing documentation for meetings
- Supporting team communication with:
- Meeting organisation
- Ensuring effective inter-departmental and external partnerships
This role blends independent administrative tasks with collaborative teamwork, ensuring Suffolk residents can bridge the digital divide with access to online essentials.
The Team
You’ll join the Suffolk Community Libraries team in the Public Health, Communities and Public Safety directorate. As a critical hub for digital inclusion, your work will:
- Strengthen community engagement and reduced inequalities through accessible technology
- Enable Suffolk residents to connect with vital services
- Contribute to wider digitalisation and citizen participation initiatives
