Database Administrator | $70/hr Remote

Position: Database Administrator

Type: Contract

Compensation: $25 - $70/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize database performance for large-scale MySQL and PostgreSQL environments. Partner with the development team to design, implement, and maintain robust database structures. Develop, test, and manage data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard business-critical information. Monitor database environments to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with evolving business needs. Document database configurations, processes, and best practices to ensure operational transparency and continuity.

Requirements

Have advanced hands-on expertise with MySQL and PostgreSQL administration. Demonstrate a proven track record in database optimization and troubleshooting. Possess a strong command of SQL for querying, scripting, and performance tuning. Have experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain complex technical information.
