Database Administrator
Database Administrator (DBA) – SQL Platform Lead

We’re now looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to take ownership of our SQL data platform, which supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Infios Warehouse Advantage, and a growing integration ecosystem.
About the Role
This critical role ensures the performance, reliability, and security of our databases while enabling scalable growth across ERP, warehouse, and integration platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams to proactively manage and optimise our data estate.
Your responsibilities will include:

Database Performance & Availability
- Ensure all SQL environments run at optimal performance.
- Maintain high availability with minimal downtime across ERP, WMS, and integrations.

Ownership of Database Platform
- Act as the primary owner for SQL Server and Azure SQL environments, establishing standards, governance, and best practices.

Proactive Monitoring & Issue Prevention
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and maintenance routines to identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.

Backup, Recovery & Resilience
- Design, implement, and regularly test backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.

Security & Data Governance
- Manage database access, permissions, and auditing to comply with internal policies and external regulations.

Integration Data Support
- Optimise and support databases used in integrations (e.g., APIs, Azure Functions), ensuring efficient and reliable data flows.

Collaboration & Enablement
- Partner with developers, analysts, and system owners to improve data models, query performance, and delivery speed.

Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Drive automation of database processes and continuously optimise performance, scalability, and cost.
Key Requirements
To thrive in this role, you’ll have:
Technical Skills & Experience
- Extensive knowledge of SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.
- Strong expertise in database design, performance tuning, and optimisation.
- Experience with high availability, backup/recovery, and data security principles.
- Proven DBA experience in a production, business-critical environment.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting of SQL workloads.
- Experience supporting ERP, WMS, or integration-heavy systems.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and modern data architectures.
- Advanced SQL querying, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
- Experience with database monitoring, automation, and maintenance (e.g., scripting, jobs).
