Database Data Engineer | London (3 days a week onsite) | up to £100,000
About the Role Peaple Talent have partnered with a transformative financial services organisation, reshaping credit access across the UK. Known for customer trust and innovation, they are now seeking a Database Data Engineer to spearhead their data platforms’ modernisation and scaling efforts on AWS, focusing heavily on SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
💻 Key Responsibilities
- Design & Optimise: Craft scalable database solutions using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Lead Migrations: Oversee transitions of MS SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS.
- Build Pipelines: Develop and manage data pipelines for seamless data flow.
- Tune Performance: Champion performance tuning, query optimisation, and indexing strategies.
- Collaborate: Work closely with engineering teams to embed robust database architecture.

✅ Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in database engineering (architectural design, development, and optimisation).
- Technical Skills:
- Deep expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL) and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
- Proven track record in cloud migrations and database modernisation.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, pipelines, and data replication.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python or similar languages for automation.
