About your role
You will be a member of a team dedicated to the efficient production of high-quality products under the direction of the Engineering line owner, Reliability Engineer, and Senior Shift Engineer from a matrix perspective. (To include Site Services, Blends, Filling, and Packaging).
What You'll Do
EHS
- Demonstrate at all times the safe working behaviour as part of the Maintenance Engineering team.
- Conform to site safety standards and procedures.
- Demonstrate high regard and leadership of behavioural safety programmes.
Quality
- Ensure product quality is assured through the appropriate maintenance activities and meet the site target for zero overdue compliance actions.
- Reporting of identified failures.
Contractor Control
- Expected duty to issue ATW permits when required.
Maintenance Plans
- Help to develop planned maintenance activities that drive continuous improvement of the reliability of our primary and secondary packaging assets.
- Ensuring that all planned maintenance activities are executed to standard.
- Support the development of SAP PM and other systems to drive planning and control and focused improvements.
- Actively commit to the annual overhaul periods attending flexibly and supporting the Engineering Line Owner in aspects of planning.
- Actively focus on Modular Maintenance requirements and rebuilds – Self Managed.
Preventative Maintenance
- Proactively support the root cause analysis related (Ensure they are initiated on shift) to engineering breakdowns, ensuring correct information is collated, capturing actions to ensure line can run.
- Support the embedding of TPM pillars of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Planned Maintenance (AM) & Focused improvements (FI).

Continuous Improvement
- Support the monitoring of reliability metrics and trends (Via all data streams e.g., Line View, LDS, Blends system, BMS, Power Advisor, etc.) to help identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Make continuous improvement ‘a way of life’.
- Support the transition from reactive to proactive maintenance.
- Understand and support the principle of ‘Design out- 100-year Fix’ solutions to eliminate recurrence of failure modes.
- Deliver innovation and continuous improvement to reduce downtime caused by maintenance and equipment failures. (Including speed and short stops).
Capital Projects
- Contribute to the site capital investment programme by highlighting areas with sufficient justification to include but not restricted to Obsolescence, Continuous improvement of energy usage, waste reduction, efficiency improvements, new technologies, etc.
Stores Management
- Proactively support the stores stock accuracy and service levels through respecting adherence to stock control policies.

What You need to be successful
- Indentured Apprenticeship
- ONC/HNC within Engineering Discipline
- Recent graduate with relevant experience within an engineering-based field (FMCG/Automotive environment)
- Develop skills and knowledge for personal development and ensure overall continuous improvement.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Base Knowledge of process control systems, and/or competent to adapt & learn.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to embrace new technology.
- Good levels of dexterity and capability to perform manual handling operations.
- Right first-time attitude
- Ability to work autonomously, strong problem-solving ability.
- Commitment to customer service
