Position summary:

You will execute the PPM plan and support the Shift Engineers during breakdowns whilst contributing to the departments continuous improvement strategy.

Working hours: 8 am to 5 pm.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out any mechanical (bias) electrical repairs (based on capability) required by the engineering leadership group or zonal specialists
  • Action any problems with production machines likely to affect production/operator, or machines defects likely to make the machine unsafe to work
  • Support the development of autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators' mechanical knowledge and know-how in the pursuit of efficient production
  • Efficiently carry out the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) to company standards
  • Update operation standards that define maintenance tasks for PPM operations as well as associated knowledge sharing platforms
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement of processes & machines within an allocated section of the line. Innovative machine set up/modifications to make better
  • Communicate to engineer team proactive/reactive issues as required
  • Perform all tasks relating to operating and maintaining production machines
  • Continually seek to optimise production output and quality by way of responding to machine and process electrical and mechanical problems and taking appropriate action to make better

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)
  • Completed a mechanical apprenticeship (preferred)
  • Experience in bench fitting/service engineering and mechanical maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solutions-focused approach
  • Fluent English
